Role Description:

This full-time, on-site Optometrist role is based in the Greater Milwaukee area. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and provide pre- and post-operative care as appropriate. Daily responsibilities include prescribing glasses and contact lenses, educating patients on eye health and treatment options, and documenting findings in the practice’s electronic health record system. There will be access to OCT imaging, state-of-the-art visual field testing, and Optos wide-field retinal photography. The role also involves collaborating with support staff to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate billing and coding, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The Optometrist will participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, or eligibility for, licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses.
  • Ability to use modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, as well as electronic health record (EHR) systems, with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with patients and collaborate effectively with support staff and other professionals.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, and ongoing professional development in optometry and medical eye care.
  • Experience in medical billing and coding processes, or willingness to work closely with billing experts and learn practice workflows.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in the Greater Milwaukee area, manage a consistent patient schedule, and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Prior experience in a medical or optometry practice setting is preferred but not required; residency or additional training in medical optometry is a plus.
