Job Description

Join a thriving, patient-first practice as a Staff Optometrist at Yealy Eye Care & Dry Eye Center. Work alongside founding optometrists Drs. Ryan and Natalia Yealy in a collaborative, family-like environment dedicated to exceptional care. This role emphasizes medical optometry, with a strong focus on diagnosing and treating dry eye disease using cutting-edge in-office therapies, while also providing comprehensive primary eye care, ocular disease co-management, and specialty services. Ideal for an optometrist passionate about dry eye management, building long-term patient relationships, and contributing to a growing practice.

Office

Yealy Eye Care and Dry Eye Center stands apart from typical optometry practices through its deep specialization in advanced dry eye disease management, offering cutting-edge in-office treatments like IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), LipiFlow, TearCare, Prokera® amniotic membrane therapy, and punctal plugs—options not commonly available at standard or corporate eye care chains. Founded by Drs. Ryan and Natalia Yealy, the practice deliberately positions itself as the opposite of impersonal chain stores, prioritizing a genuine family-oriented environment where patients are treated like family in a warm, welcoming setting with personalized attention tailored to individual needs. This commitment extends to comprehensive medical optometry services, including ocular disease management (such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy), specialty contact lenses (scleral, Rose K2, and MiSight for myopia control), Neurolens for digital eye strain relief, pediatric care, low vision support, and urgent/emergency eye care—all delivered with state-of-the-art diagnostics and a strong sense of community involvement, exemplified by their location in the VisionCorps building and support for diverse populations including state-insured patients.

Candidate Description

A strong candidate for a Staff Optometrist at Yealy Eye Care & Dry Eye Center would be a compassionate, patient-centered Doctor of Optometry who thrives in a family-oriented, independent private practice environment—explicitly the opposite of corporate or chain settings. They should hold an active (or eligible) Pennsylvania optometry license, possess solid foundational skills in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, and primary care optometry across all ages (including pediatrics), and demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for medical optometry with a particular passion or experience in dry eye disease management. Ideal qualities include familiarity with—or eagerness to master—advanced in-office therapies such as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), LipiFlow thermal pulsation, TearCare, Prokera® amniotic membrane application, punctal plugs, and targeted prescription regimens, along with proficiency in related diagnostics like tear film analysis and meibography.Beyond technical expertise, the right fit excels at building long-term patient relationships through excellent communication, empathy, and personalized care—treating every individual like family while educating them on ocular health and treatment plans. They should be collaborative team players comfortable working alongside Drs. Ryan and Natalia Yealy, technicians, and staff in a warm, supportive atmosphere, with flexibility for multi-location scheduling across Lancaster and York sites. Additional strengths that align perfectly include experience in ocular disease co-management (e.g., glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy), specialty contact lens fitting (scleral, Rose K2, MiSight for myopia control), low vision services, Neurolens for digital eye strain, and handling urgent/emergency cases. Above all, the candidate should be committed to staying current with evolving optometric advancements, community involvement (such as supporting VisionCorps initiatives), and delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse population, including state-insured patients, in a growing, mission-driven practice.
