Job Description

Welcome to the team!

At our private practice you'll have the incredible opportunity to improve and preserve sight while making a difference in the lives of patients of all ages. If you're dedicated to a career of helping patients see their world clearly, and you're looking for a long-term opportunity to practice in a clean, modern, and comfortable office dedicated to primary eye care for families, our office may be the perfect place for you.

Who We Are

When it comes to medical eye care, vision care, and premium optical products, we have it all.  As a private practice, we work together as one team to deliver superior optometric services. Featuring state-of-the-art instruments, patients can expect to receive the gold standard in eye care. Through advanced technology and support from a welcoming team we empower our doctors to provide a spectrum of effective diagnostics to improve the quality of life for all patients.

Who We Need
We are in need of a doctor who is highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic.  In our private Optometric practice, you'll have the opportunity to care for patients with a wide variety of pathology and refractive needs. You'll perform comprehensive vision exams, recommend vision-enhancing solutions, and promote preventative eye health through patient education. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate and expand your skillset into virtually any direction that the broad scope of Optometry currently spans.

Who You Are

You're an energetic and inspiring professional who thrives in a busy yet calm clinic environment while extending kindness and expertise during all interactions. You thrive at providing a moderate volume of patients with the highest standard of care without sacrificing quality of care. Although not a requirement, candidates who are residency-trained and have the ability to conduct exams in Spanish will be an asset to the team.

What we need from you
You must demonstrate superior patient care, communication, interpersonal skills, and a team-player mentality. We're also seeking a professional who values mutual respect for coworkers, patients and their schedules, with a committment to provide comprehensive and timely care to ensure that everyone has the time they need with friends and family.

We believe in quality over quantity. The maximum number of routine eyecare appointments you are expected to see in a day is 15.  Our team is awesome!  We have experienced technicians trained as scribes to assist with charting in our EMR software (currently My Vision Express). Aside of thorough pretesting completed by technicians, diagnostic testing, contact lens training and sales are all completed by technicians.  Additionally, our Optical staff has a combined 50 years of experience and knows how to take your recommendations from the chair to provide the eyewear needed to meet your patient's needs. We are a well-oiled machine, but we are defintely open to change and suggestions you may have for further optimizing our flow!

We are flexible! This is a great opportunity for an Optometrist looking for a good balance between life and work.  We are currently open to hiring for 1-3 days a week and are looking to expand the practice, with the opportunity for growth to full-time within the next 5 years.

We are a private practice and we work private practice hours. We are currently open Monday through Friday from 9-5 and Saturdays from 9-3.  We don't work holidays, Sundays or late nights-  Those are for family.

We provide full scope optometric care, including but not limited to:

  • Primary eye care for ages 3 years and up
  • Emergency eye care
  • Management of ocular diseases
  • Visual fields, Retinal imaging, OCT, Topography, Aberrometry, Biometry
  • Co-management of surgical patients
  • Myopia Management programs
  • Standard contact lens exams with a high percentage of new multifocal and new pediatric wearers
  • Highly skilled in the fitting of hard lenses including RGP & Scleral lenses for various eye diseases.

Candidate Description

We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our team of dedicated professionals to deliver an outstanding patient experience. The ideal candidate must be an exceptional communicator with a passion for service and love for interacting with people. Communication with team members is just as important as communication with patients, in order to provide the best possible patient experience. The optometrist must be able to multitask while working in a moderately-paced environment. This position requires a lot of teamwork, communication skills, and provides a great opportunity to join a growing and successful 10 year old practice.

Experience with contact lenses and myopia control is a huge plus as we are a heavy contact lens practice and our myopia control program is growing. We also have an inordinate number of newly presbyopic patients, and the best candidate will be well-versed in discussing the various optical solutions for presbyopia and embracing occupational spectacle lenses and multifocal contact lenses.
