Responsibilities / Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess the visual system and diagnose ocular abnormalities or diseases
  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, based on patients' visual needs and lifestyle
  • Provide specialized care for patients with eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, or diabetic retinopathy
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care and referrals as necessary
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices, contact lens hygiene, and preventive measures
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and continually enhance your professional skills
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards

You will gain exposure to a wide range of eye care and vision needs in our full-scope practice with an emphasis on primary care and medical optometry.

As an OD in our practice, you will have the support of a full staff comprised of technicians, two additional ODs, and front desk support. We are equipped with an OCT, Virtual Field, OPTOS, ERG, topography, and any equipment our doctors need to practice full scope.

Schedule: We value work-life balance - which means our schedule has no weekends! Our full- time doctors work a standard 40hrs/week.

Candidate Description

Required Skills / Qualities

  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and effectively explain diagnoses and treatments
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in performing examinations and prescribing corrective measures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements
    • Proficient in diagnosing and treating various ocular diseases, including glaucoma, dry eye, and age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) is highly regarded. The ability to effectively utilize our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to manage and treat patients with these conditions is an asset.
    • Familiarity or experience fitting scleral lenses, ortho-k or more complex contact lenses is a benefit 

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications / License Certification:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school (or pending)
  • Valid state optometry license and in good standing (or pending)
