Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing primary eye care services to patients, including comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and treating various eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and educating patients on proper eye care techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, eye health, and ocular function.
  • Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration.
  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses, based on patients' visual needs and lifestyle.
  • Monitor and manage ongoing eye health issues, collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Provide patient education on proper eye care techniques, including the use and maintenance of corrective lenses, and the importance of regular eye examinations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, examination results, and treatment plans.
  • Stay informed about advancements in optometry and ophthalmology practices, participating in continuing education and professional development activities.

Candidate Description

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
    • State licensure to practice optometry.
    • Strong clinical skills and ability to perform comprehensive eye examinations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and professionalism.
    • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
