Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for providing exceptional optical services. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing various eye conditions, conducting comprehensive eye exams, and ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction. Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Provide appropriate prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses based on patient needs.
- Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens care, and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR and EHR systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including measuring visual acuity, assessing ocular health, and checking vital signs.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices, technologies, and medical terminology.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
- Participate in sales activities related to optical products and services.
Candidate Description
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the visual system.
- Familiarity with optical equipment and techniques is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of medical coding practices relevant to optometry.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid South Carolina state license to practice optometry.
