Low Vision Optometrist

Job Description

Provide low vision evaluations to assess patient’s needs and visual goals. Make suggestions and offer patient education to assist them to meet those goals. 

Office

Exams are not rushed, we will base the number of patients that you see in a day off of your comfort level. Low vision devices are available for demonstration but this practice is very much focused on patient care and not on sales. We perform the evaluations and communicate with their referring doctors and send the patients back to their referring ODs or MDs. Flexible schedule

Candidate Description

The ideal candidate would be someone who is patient and compassionate. Someone who is willing to not rush through a visit. Many of these patients are frightened with their visual loss and are looking for an opportunity to speak with a medical provider in a non-rushed manner and benefit from someone who is willing to answer their questions about their vision loss. Might be a great position for an OD considering retirement in beautiful Tucson, AZ but wants to continue to practice at least part time. 

Candidate Requirements

Optometry degree, we are willing to provide low vision training.
