Licensed Optician/Optical Manager in new Private Practice in S. Tampa!

Job Description

• Maintain inventory of eyewear, accessories, and supplies, along with the rationale for ordering and selling selected eyewear products. 

• Work with representatives of frame manufacturers to determine appropriate frames to purchase for the population served. 

• Negotiate responsible and favorable prices for lab and frame products and services. 

• Reconcile statements from suppliers for purchases made. 

• Establish pricing at the retail level for all eyewear products and accessories. 

• Balance receipts at the end of each day. 

• Assist in establishing and revising the dispensary's guidelines, policies, and warranties. 

• Conduct and supervise frame and accessory inventory reconciliation quarterly. 
• • Measure, fit, adjust, and repair eyewear.  
  • Evaluate customer's facial structure to determine proper frame and fit. 
  • Discuss customer's needs, occupations, and hobbies to determine the best lenses to suit the lifestyle.  
  • Assist patients in the selection of eyewear.  
  • Counsel patients with third-party insurance regarding the specifics of their coverage. 
  • Prepare the patient's bill and input charges into the computer system. 
  • Submit frame/lens orders to the appropriate laboratory, insurance company, and/or frame manufacturer. 
  • Prepare and ship work orders to the outside laboratory.  
  • Verify quality and measurements of eyewear returned from the lab. 
  • Contact patients when eyewear arrives. 
  • Work with patients to provide patient education regarding how to use their new eyewear. 
  • Troubleshoot any patient difficulties during or after dispense. 
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly appearance in the dispensary. 
  • Maintain a professional and friendly attitude with all staff, patients, and doctors. 
  • Maintain strict confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.  
  • Participate in office-sponsored educational activities and attend monthly staff meetings. 
  • Crosstrain for front desk and technician duties. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Description

Candidate Requirements

Board Certified licensed optician

min 3 years experience in optical sales

Managerial experience valued
