Job Description

Kentucky Eye Institute, a leader in Kentucky eyecare for over 50 years, is seeking a full time optometrist for immediate placement in one or more of our satellite offices.  The ideal candidate will possess an independent drive and a heart for the communities they serve.  Our practice is one of a few remaining independent group practices in our state and has remained a local fixture for multiple generations.  As such KEI is seeking long term providers that not only possess the necessary skills to care for our patients, but, are willing to become part of the fabric of the our practice.  KEI offers competitive compensation packages with exceptional benefits.  If you are interested in becoming part of Kentucky’s eye care legacy, please send us your CV and cover letter or feel free to reach out to us by phone.  We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to Kentucky Eye Institute!  Please forward any interest or questions to aric.myers@kyeye.com or call 859-492-9850.

Office

Kentucky Eye Institute (KEI) has been serving Kentucky communities since 1970.  We offer a full complement of ophthalmic, optometric, and optical/contact lens services.  We provide care ranging from medical and surgical interventions for retina, glaucoma, cataract, ocular surface diseases, etc...  Our ownership structure consists of both optometrists and ophthalmologists, so, we provide an inclusive and cooperative work environment for our medical staff.  As a result of our tenure in the markets we serve, KEI has become part of the very fabric of those communities.  As a result, we look for providers that share the "down home" communication skills needed for some of our more rural markets.

Candidate Description

The ideal candidate will have completed their optometry training at an accredited program and be willing to obtain or already have an active Kentucky OD license.  Our offices run with maximum efficiencies and utilize technicians to their fullest extent.  Most patients arrive into exam lanes already refracted and ready for examination.  Therefore, we are looking for self motivated providers who are comfortable with this type of operational design.

Candidate Requirements

Possess or willing to obtain a Kentucky OD license via the KBOE.

Willing to travel and or locate to markets we serve.

Comfortable allowing technicians to present patients to providers with majority of workup complete.
