Job Description

FECC is seeking an associate optometrist to join, a nearly 60-year-old, busy privately owned optometric practice, in central West Virginia.  Primary medical care optometry, caring for patients of all ages with a wide range of ocular conditions.  Well vision and a strong contact lens practice.  The practice includes state of the art instrumentation, diagnosis and caring for patients in a professional environment with a highly trained staff.

FECC is situated between some of the best ski resorts on the east coast. Located near national forests, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy including mountain biking, hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and even rock climbing at nearby Seneca Rocks. Nearby, strong arts communities can be found. Elkins is a small community of 10,000 and has seven counties that feed into the practice. Office

The practice has

  • Three (+) well equipped exam lane(s) and nicely furnished practice.
  • Full-scope optometry; medical, vision, contact lenses, pediatric and geriatric, emergency and urgent after-hour care.
  • Enjoys an active and positive referral base from local medical, urgent care, institutional and MD sources of varying specialties. 
  • Strong and respectful co-management relationships with WVU and other OMD providers.
  • Optical including an in-house lab.
  • Promoting eye health by education and preventative care, engaging, and communicating with patients and the community in general
  • Well vision and medical eye care.
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor eye disease.
  • Maintain a positive work environment, guide, utilize and mentor exceptional support staff.
  • NO WEEKENDS

Completion of a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry institution. Possess a valid and unrestricted optometry license in the state of West Virginia..
