Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and skilled Optometrist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in specialty contact lenses (including scleral lenses and orthokeratology) and be enthusiastic about expanding their knowledge in advanced dry eye treatments. You will be a key player in providing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular conditions, and delivering personalized care that enhances our patients' vision and quality of life. This position starts as part-time, with the potential to grow into a full-time role as our practice continues to grow and thrive.

Candidate Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough eye exams for patients of all ages, with a focus on comprehensive assessments and specialty lenses

  • Fit, prescribe, and manage Scleral Contact Lenses and Orthokeratology

  • Provide advanced treatment for Dry Eye Disease, including Radiofrequency (RF) and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapies

  • Diagnose and manage a range of ocular diseases and conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease

  • Educate patients on proper eyewear, contact lens care, and eye health maintenance

  • Work collaboratively with Dr. Jill Sagona to deliver specialized treatments and enhance patient outcomes

  • Keep accurate, detailed patient records using our electronic health records system

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school

  • Current, valid optometry license in the state of Florida (or eligible for licensure)

  • Experience or strong interest in Scleral Lenses, Orthokeratology, and Dry Eye Disease management is a plus

  • Comfortable with advanced dry eye treatments like IPL and RF or open to learning these techniques

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, family-friendly environment

  • Experience with electronic health record systems
