Job Description
Gammo Premier Vision is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services, including routine vision exams, ocular disease management, and specialty contact lens fittings. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, compassionate, and motivated to contribute to the growth of a modern medical optometry practice.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye disease
- Prescribe glasses and contact lenses based on patient needs
- Fit specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses and medically necessary lenses
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for refractive and cataract surgery patients
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and preventative care
Medical & Clinical Services
- Manage and treat dry eye disease using advanced diagnostics and treatment protocols
- Diagnose and treat ocular infections and inflammatory conditions
- Monitor and manage chronic eye diseases
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and topography
Practice Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with opticians and clinical staff to ensure excellent patient care
- Provide guidance on lens prescriptions and specialty optical solutions
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in the electronic health record system
- Support clinic workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction
Business & Growth Contribution
- Support practice growth through excellent patient care and strong patient relationships
- Participate in patient education regarding advanced services such as dry eye treatment and specialty contact lenses
- Contribute to maintaining a positive office culture and teamwork
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Active Nevada optometry license (or ability to obtain)
- Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (TPA) certification
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dry eye management
- Experience with scleral lens fittings
- Experience with medical optometry and ocular disease management
