Opthalmic Technician

Job Description

• Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history and performing preliminary assessments.
• Accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in various clinical procedures, including Autorefraction, Icare tonometry, Eidon fundus photos, OCT, Neurolens, Rabin cone testing, RetEval ERG.
• Provide optical support by helping patients select eyewear, explaining lens options and providing contact lens training to patients.
• Maintain medical records accurately within EMR systems such as Revolution EHR.
• Collaborate with the optometrist during examinations and treatments, providing necessary assistance.
• Educate patients on proper eye care and follow-up procedures.
• Handle front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, chart prep and patient check-in/out processes.
• Ensure the clinic is organized and well-stocked with necessary supplies for daily operations.

Office

Small, non corporate practice with alot of medicaid patients as well as commercial patients. We treat infections, do amniotic membranes, punctal occlusion, glaucoma eval and treatment, diabetic eye exams, digital color testing and much more.

You will assist the optometrist with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining a high standard of patient service. Your expertise in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and experience with EMR systems will be essential in delivering quality care to our patients
