Optometry Technician/Front Desk Support

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary testing, including autorefraction, non-contact tonometry (NCT), autolensometry, color vision, depth perception, and retinal imaging (Maestro Imaging/OCT)
• Accurately obtain and document patient medical history
• Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and verifying vision and/or medical insurance
• Assist patients with contact lens insertion and removal and provide education on proper lens care and hygiene
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment in accordance with office protocols

Candidate Description

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with vision and/or medical insurance processes is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-focused demeanor
• Reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Willingness to learn both clinical and administrative aspects of the practice
