Job Description
This is a part-time (eventual full-time) on-site role for an Optometrist located in Rockford, IL. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and treat eye diseases and conditions, prescribe eyeglasses, and contact lenses (including scleral lenses), and provide pre-and post-operative counseling for patients undergoing eye surgery. Additionally, they will educate patients on proper eye care and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best patient care.

New Vision is a private practice that has two ophthalmologists and three optometrists who offer a wide range of eye healthcare services to the Rockford community. Our eye clinic began more than 20 years ago with Dr. Frederick Brightbill who retired in 2011, and Dr. Eric Ericson who retired in 2020. www.newvisionrockford.com
Candidate Description
Candidate Requirements
- Skills in performing comprehensive eye exams and diagnosing and treating eye diseases.
- Proficiency in prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, including scleral lenses or interest in learning.
- Experience in providing pre-and post-operative care for eye surgery patients.
- Strong patient education and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state license to practice optometry in Illinois.
- Experience in a clinical setting is a plus.
