Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages, including vision tests, refraction, and ocular health assessments.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat ocular diseases and disorders, including prescribing medications and counseling patients.
- Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses, and provide education on lens options and eye health.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for co-management of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and post-surgical care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in our electronic health system.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Educate patients on vision care, prevention, and treatment options.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest treatments, technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid state optometry license in CA.
- Excellent diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to patient satisfaction and ethical practice.

Candidate Description
The ideal candidate for Specialty Eye Care Medical Center is an independent, motivated, and compassionate optometrist who enjoys the challenge and fulfillment of managing a wide range of ocular diseases and co-management cases. You are comfortable practicing autonomously in the office, making sound clinical decisions, and providing exceptional care without direct, onsite supervision. You excel at collaborating with other healthcare professionals when needed and are adaptable to working in a fast-paced yet supportive environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid and current optometry license to practice in the state of California
- California Glaucoma Certification (TPA+G certification required)
- Strong clinical skills in diagnosing, managing, and treating ocular disease
