Associate Optometrist

Job Description

Position is for 4-5 (flexible) days a week in a very busy 2 doctor Wal Mart vision center. My associate is retiring at the end of 2025. Practice full scope Optometry. Eye exam and Contact lens fittings as well as treatment of all diseases permitted by law. We see patients from 6 months to 95 years old and use Revolution EHR for medical exams. Typically we see 3 exams an hour plus a slot for Contact follow-ups or emergencies, but for a new grad getting up to speed, we can adjust.  Salary will be dependent on production in that regard.  

Office

We are one of the top 5 Wal Mart Vision Centers in the country because we have always and will always run the office like a private practice. We just happen to be located in a Wal Mart in Ephrata PA in the center of Lancaster County. We practice full scope Optometry to the level each OD is comfortable with.  My associates have always had full autonomy with treatment plans and contact lens selections.  We have our own visual field, OCT and Clarus fundus camera and use them to monitor diagnose and treat all eye diseases. We comanage cataract and refractive as well as glaucoma surgeries. We participate with most medical insurance in our area as well as a variety of vision plans. We also have a significant percentage of plain patients who self pay as we are located in an Amish/ Mennonite area. 

Candidate Description

I need a doctor who cares.  We take care of people and their needs for the long haul.  People need to trust us so we can empower them to be healthier people with better vision. We have built relationships with our patients so they send their families, friends (and enemies) to see us. Many of my staff have been here more than 10 years. one staff member has been here since we opened 23 years ago.  We will help you be the best Optometrist and see as much (or as little) eye disease as you are comfortable with.
