Job Description
Weaver Eye Care Associates is a multi-location private optometry practice in Berks County, PA. We are looking for an associate optometrist to work 1-4 days/week between our Bernville, PA and Kutztown, PA locations. Candidate should have a great personality and excellent clinical skills to diagnose and manage ocular disease, including glaucoma, dry eye, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, etc. Determining accurate prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses and experience with using electronic medical records are essential to the position, as well as knowledge with correct billing using CPT and ICD-10 codes.
Details on the position:

1-4 days/week

Patients are booked every 30 minutes, approximately 15 patients/day

No weekends or on-call hours

Friendly and experienced staff allowing optometrist to focus on providing eye care

Potential for growth into full-time associate/partnership
Education and Licensure Requirements:

Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited institution
-
License in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania
-
DEA License (optional)
-
National Provider Identification (NPI, Type 1 Individual)
Responsibilities

Perform entrance vision tests, refraction, contact lens evaluation, ocular health assessment

Diagnose and treat/manage diseases of the eye

Order ancillary testing to manage patients: OCT, visual field, fundus photography, etc.

Proper billing and coding with CPT and ICD-10

Accurately prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses

Refer to ophthalmologists for surgery and/or consultations

With our friendly doctor and staff, we are attentive to our patient's eye care needs and enjoy conversations with our patients, getting to know them and their families to develop strong, long-lasting doctor-patient relationships.
Candidate Description
Our Bernville location is positioned for growth with the right candidate. Our office sees patients of all ages, with lots of medical eye exams and glaucoma management. We would like our part-time associate to have a great personality with good clinical skills and decision making. If the candidate would be interested in a certain specialty of optometry (dry eye, specialized contact lenses, myopia management, etc), that would be a welcomed possibility to add to the practice.
Candidate Requirements
Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school of optometry
Clinical experience preferred but new grads are welcome to apply
