Full Time Therapeutic Optometrist (3 day weekends)

Job Description

A practice in Georgetown, TX (30 minutes outside of Austin) is looking for a therapeutic optometrist for a full-time position who is looking for an opportunity for growth (part-time may be considered for the right candidate).  The position is four days a week with Friday through Sunday off.  There is no optical and contact lens is optional.  Currently there is one ophthalmologist at the practice who will turn over much of his practice to the incoming doctor so expect to be busy right away.  The position is medically oriented.  The ophthalmologist will stay on to perform surgery and continue to see patients at the office.  Equipment includes Haag Streit LED slit lamps, OCT, EIDON widefield fundus camera, topography, Octopus 900 visual field, Marco autorefractor/keratometer.

Benefits offered: Base Salary 130 to 150k depending on experience and schedule with bonus starting at triple collections.  Malpractice insurance, health insurance provided, 401K with matching after first year, PTO.

Candidate Description

Therapeutic optometrist.  Self starter.  We only see adults, but patients tend to be more medicare age.  There is a significant amount of glaucoma management, medical management of AMD, dry eye along with diabetic eye exams, cataracts and pseudophakia.  Great patient centered care is a must.  Looking for a long term position.  Expectation is a floor of 20 patients per day with technician help.
