Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist our O.D. in providing excellent patient care, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including medical history and visual acuity tests.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual field tests, fundus photography, and corneal topography.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care, post-operative care, and medication usage.
- Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage patient flow, ensuring timely appointments and efficient clinic operations.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Requirements include:
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred.
- Proficiency in performing a wide range of diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
